During the middle of 1978, a few young Madras (Chennai as it was then) based Chartered Accountant, met periodically to discuss matters of professional relevance and significance and to widen their knowledge, exposure and skills, and to share their experience in the profession.

The success of such meetings prompted the formation of THE CHARTERED ACCOUNTANT STUDY CIRCLE and thus the First Meeting of the official CASC was held on 29th December 1978. Since then, till date, meetings have been organised every month, without a break - a record of sorts for any form of Organisation. With the success of the meetings and the ever-increasing issues in the fields of accountancy, audit and corporate law, the meetings began to be held twice each month since 1990. The days and the timings are also fixed on the second and last Thursdays of each month at 6.30 pm and are seldom changed.

A committee of management consisting of the members of CASC, manages the affairs of the organisation. The management committee has a perfect blend of young and old who give their time and resources to the organisation voluntarily.

Beginning as a forum for the discussions on Tax and Corporate Laws, CASC has become a full-fledged treasure house of talent creation, refining, culturing and mobilisation. The silver jubilee of CASC was celebrated in 2003.

Now we are marching towards Golden jubilee in the year 2028.
